Dublin North East Drugs and Alcohol Task Force is one of twenty-four drugs task forces nationwide developed to combat the threat from problem drug use throughout the country.
They are made up of statutory, voluntary, community and public representatives who work in partnership to provide and maintain a system of supports and services for individuals, families and communities through which existing and future problem drug use is prevented, reduced and managed.
The Task Force delivers training courses and drug awareness programmes to schools.
EDIT supports vulnerable people in addiction, as well as their loved ones.
Kilbarrack Coast Community Programme CLG works with people and families who have become involved in drug misuse and develops community development initiatives.
RASP is located at Belcamp Lane and is a drug rehabilitation centre with a safe and drug-free environment for support and learning for recovering users.
The Dales Drug Treatment Therapy Group assists individuals and families from the Dublin 17 area in addressing the issue of problematic drug and alcohol use, so they can live a life free from the problems caused by these substances.
It does this by –
Providing drop-In services, five mornings a week for individuals to make initial contact.
Providing one-to-one support to individuals including key working, care planning and case management.
Offering counselling and therapeutic support by qualified and registered counsellors to individuals and groups.
Education and Childcare

Coolock Darndale Adult Literacy Service is part of City of Dublin Education and Training Board (CDETB). It supports students with their reading, writing, maths, computers, and other basic skills.
The service operates in ten centres within the community. Students learn in one-to-one classes and small groups, accredited and non-accredited. Groups usually have between four and eight students.
One-to-one classes are delivered by volunteer tutors who are fully trained and supported.
The Darndale Belcamp Integrated Childcare Service Ltd was established in January 2000. The centre provides quality childcare for the children and families from the local Darndale, Belcamp and Moatview communities, a recognised area of social need.
It is one of the largest childcare centres in Ireland with 260 children from 0 to 12 years of age attending daily.
Their aim is to meet the increasing needs in the community for high quality, safe, affordable and inclusive childcare aimed at promoting the physical, emotional, social and educational wellbeing of the children.

Discovery CTC is a City of Dublin ETB training centre located in the Darndale Belcamp Village Centre.
They deliver training to 16-21 year olds through courses which include Health Related Fitness, Woodwork, Hair & Beauty, Catering & Hospitality, Childcare, Office and I.T Skills. Places are available on an on-going basis throughout the year.
Learners also receive breakfast, lunch and a training allowance while participating on courses.
A free service which helps build confidence and develop motivational skills for job seekers. Assists in compiling letters of application and developing an appropriate curriculum vitae. Provides support until suitable employment. Interview coaching.
OLI SNS caters for pupils from Third Class to Sixth Class. The school staff pride themselves on creating a unique, exciting environment that embraces all types of learners and promotes growth both academically and personally.
Students and families are also welcomed into a dynamic and supportive community.

The centre supports the community through the provision of a broad range of vital community support services, eg, crèche, after-school for 5-12 year olds, educational grinds, junior youth club and senior youth club, special needs group, sports club, adult activities, therapies and courses, active age groups and ladies club, drop-in and counselling services.
Family Services
Provides therapeutic services to children, young people and families.
Supporting children (0-18 years) and their parents and carers through a range of evidenced-based therapeutic interventions.
The approach to working with families is needs-led, solution-focused, strengths-based and outcome-focused.

Local Services
Ongoing events at Coolock Library include Crochet group every Thursday mornings, Patchwork group every Thursday evening and Library Quiet Time on Monday evenings. Coolock Library is wheelchair accessible and an induction loop system for use with hearing aids is also available.
The library accommodates class visits, lectures, book clubs, exhibitions and workshops as well as providing activities for adults and children.

Darndale Belcamp Village Centre CLG provides a range of projects and services which have been developed to support the needs of the local community, including venue hire.
It offers employment programmes, a Golden Years Visitors Centre, professional home maintenance and decluttering services, an art gallery, and a community pride project
which works with residents to bring about change in their physical space.

Elsa Security originally developed from a social entrepreneurship initiative in the Darndale, Belcamp, Moatview Area. It provides community services and employ people distanced from the labour market.
The company has a full-time staff of 21 security guards. Elsa has a 24-hour operational centre and headquarters at Darndale-Belcamp Village Centre.
The Northside Partnership is a local company which works with local people, representatives from communities, the state, employers, trade unions and elected representatives to improve the opportunities for people and communities in northeast Dublin to bring about positive changes in their own lives and in their community.
They support all people and groups in the community including those looking for work, students, people starting their own business, children and families, young people, older people, parents and guardians, and childcare providers.
Northside Partnership’s work is funded by the Irish Government, charitable organisations and private sources.

Golden Years provides a daily social club, outreach support and drop-in services offering members with socialising opportunities, exercise programmes, meals, alternative therapies and home/hospital visits, through its outreach team.
Capacity for Golden Years Day Care Centre is currently 200 places per-week, with limited transport available. The service has seen continuing growth in membership with an increasing number of people availing of the range of Golden Years services.
Fresh meals are cooked in-house, and a full programme of activities are provided as well as tailored exercise programmes and social events and day trips. Activities include Art-group, Gospel Choir, Men’s Bowls group, Women’s Group, Men’s Group.
Managed by Darndale Belcamp Village Centre CLG, Handy Helpers is a social enterprise that offers professional home maintenance and decluttering services at affordable rates for older people living in the areas of Dublin 5, 13 and 17.
The priority of this service is the safety and comfort of its service users to ensure that all work carried out in the homes of older people is completed to the highest standard, providing full peace of mind. Handy Helpers offers a no obligation, free quotation and assessment of work.
Northside Homecare Services has delivered care and services in north Dublin for over 30 years. It is governed by a voluntary board of directors committed to an organisation that creates social and sustainable value for clients, the community and society.

Based at Darndale/Belcamp Recreation Centre, the club has been a pillar for sport and recreation in the community over the last four decades.

The club has a number of schoolboy/girls teams competing in the NDSL football league from Under 9 to Under 13. The club also run an academy for three to six-year olds and has a football-for-all team. It plays at Darndale Park.

O’Tooles GAA Club runs club nurseries in Darndale. Based on Blunden Drive, it also promotes Gaelic Games in schools in the area.
Traveller Support
TravAct provides quality support and developmental services, advocacy services and information support to the marginalised Traveller Community in North Dublin.
It acts as a bridge between the Traveller Community and the Settled Community with the aim of developing TravAct as a model traveller support organisation on the Island.
Youth Services
Coolock Outreach is an education and training programme aimed at unqualified early school leavers aged 15-20. It provides second chance education geared to the specific needs of the individual.
Youthreach offers QQI Level 3 and 4 and also provides a safe, structured and supportive environment in which to learn.
Creative Places Darndale is a three-year project supported by the Arts Council. Awarded to Sphere 17 for the area of Darndale in June 2021, the Arts Council’s Creative Places programme invests in places such as towns, villages, suburbs, and island communities that have had fewer opportunities to take part in the arts.
The purpose of Creative Places Darndale is to weave the arts into everyday life in Darndale.
DA7 ACT is a free and confidential drug and alcohol outreach support service for adults and young people with a focus on the catchment area of Darndale, Moatview and Belcamp. The service engages with all individuals – in particular the ‘hard to reach people’ who may not be accessing services.
They offer appropriate referral and progression pathways for individuals through outreach, case management, detached work, advocacy work and interagency structures and linkages.
The D17 ACT team conduct outreach in Darndale, Moatview and Belcamp numerous times throughout the day to build up relationships with people living in the community and to inform people of the supports we can offer. They are identifiable by their bright red jackets and are always willing to talk.
Kilmore West Youth Project is a community-based youth and family service governed by a voluntary board of directors.
It provides a range of supports and services to meet the needs of young people and families in the Coolock area.
Out ‘N About is a confidential, detached youth service working in the Darndale, Coolock and Kilmore areas. Their small team of three youth workers aim to help and support young people on their terms, where they are.
Alan, Andrea and Christopher are available to speak to young people about anything that want to reach out about. The service caters for young people up to the age of 24.

The Sphere 17 youth service provides a high-quality youth service to young people between the ages of 10 – 24, in the region of Dublin 17 and Dublin 5.
They provide many different services to young people, based on their needs, issues and interests.
Their services include drop-ins, educational and issue-based group work programmes, one-to-one support, detached youth work (including outreach), outings and residential activities and summer programmes.
Woodale Youth Justice Project is a Garda Youth Diversion Project (GYDP) which works with young people aged 10-17 years from the areas of Darndale and Priorswood.
The majority of young people are referred to Woodale by a Garda Juvenile Liaison Officer.
The Woodale project seeks to encourage a better quality of life for young people in the community, in addition to fostering good relationships between the Gardaí and young people.
